Review: Firestorm (Dark Kings #10) by Donna Grant

Firestorm (Dark Kings, #10)Firestorm by Donna Grant
My rating: 4 of 5 stars

Firestorm is a great enter into the Dark King's world and author Donna Grant has done an great job of keeping the main story and all the side stories moving along seamlessly. Word of caution for those who haven't had to chance to read the previous installments of this series, you will be kind of confused/lost (like I was) without the background for the side stories. That issue aside, the story itself was great.

In this installment, the reader can see where the author is skillfully weaving together all the elements that make a great paranormal read. There is solid world building with solid characters to back it up. Though I am a fan of shifters in my stories, I've never really gotten into dragons. Well, this story is helping to change my mind. Dragon King Dimitri is duty bound and focused but not too focused that he can't recognize his destiny right in front of him. Protective and mindful of what's at stake, Dimitri just wants to stay on task but that will not happen if he can't keep his mind and hands off Faith. The ever curious Faith just knows she is on to something big and she will not let anything distract her. Even if the distraction comes in the sexy package of Muscles the Dragon King.

Now, I must admit that the heroine worked my nerves a bit. Her noisy scale was off the charts but what did I expect … her life is a life of inquiry. I found her to be passionate about her work and protective about the ones around her. There is great chemistry between the leading characters with plenty of action sequences and plotting/scheming secondary characters.
